On Netflix there's a show called Chef's Table that follows the life of a different world-renowned chef each week and examines what makes them and their food unique. For this week's blog we watched the episode about Francis Mallmann.

I love the picture! I also enjoyed how you explained how he has people helping him and how he defines the people who work with him. I didn't really see that perspective of it so thanks for opening my eyes to that!

I like how you said "One is having the freedom to write make your own choices and write your own story, which is something that Mallmann pursues throughout his life in order to be able to exercise his full creativity when cooking and is also important in writing." I truly believe that you have the choice to write your own story! Nice blog Keep up the good work!

I enjoyed reading this well-organized, well-written, and thoughtful post. This post provides a clear explanation of the showing and telling structure of the episode's narrative and also provides clear connections between 1) Mallmann's longings for and recreations of home and our course hiraeth narrative assignment's explorations of the same themes and 2) Mallman's life narrative themes of freedom (making choices for his own fulfillment) and working with others and our course's narrative themes of student choice/agency and the social nature of making meaning. Thanks for sharing!
